Decorative Trends in Weddings: An Exclusive LuciaseCasa Interview with Bouclé Weddings

Are you finalizing the details for your spring-summer wedding? Wondering what the next few months will bring in terms of Decorative Trends in Weddings? Bouclé Weddings has the answers you seek.

Delving into the latest Decorative Trends in Weddings, we consulted with Daniel and Estela, founders of Bouclé Weddings, a Valencian firm that specializes in wedding planning, decoration, and nuptial stationery. Their weddings are celebrated for a meticulously curated aesthetic where a passion for craftsmanship is key. Their motto, ‘Love as the Starting Point,’ truly reflects the origin of their venture, which began with organizing their own wedding, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees. They skillfully design weddings with cohesive narratives or visual storytelling, creating indelible memories through an in-depth understanding and careful projection of the latest trends.

To guide you in organizing your big day, they share all the Decorative Trends for Spring-Summer 2023 Weddings. Take note:

Elegant Minimalism in Weddings

“In recent years, minimalism has become increasingly popular in wedding decoration. For 2023, we anticipate this trend will persist, evolving into what we refer to as ‘Elegant Minimalism,'” explain Estela and Daniel.

“We’re talking about monochromatic tables dressed with smooth textiles and neutral colors, adding small pops of color with elements like matte black cutlery. Layering fabrics adds sobriety to the table, for instance, textured chargers, napkins of a different fabric under the plates… In these tables, glassware plays a more prominent role than in others, undoubtedly a trend is brocaded glassware.”

Ceramics at the Wedding Table

“Ceramic vases and candle holders are gaining traction in interior design and are set to adorn 2023’s wedding tables,” from Bouclé Weddings insight.

“We love combining decorative elements that we might typically see in deco magazines on our wedding tables. These vases, with their artisanal beauty and variety of shapes and textures, are an excellent option for displaying floral arrangements, which, following the previous trend, tend to be arrangements with flowers of a single variety or flowers of different varieties but of the same color,” they explain.

Printed Tableware Trends in Weddings

“In 2023, there has been a resurgence of prints in both tablecloths and, especially, in tableware. Toile de Jouy style plates will be seen in various colors, particularly in blues, burgundy, and greens. This pattern is characterized by its light background and monochromatic color print and pairs perfectly with silver and mother-of-pearl cutlery, another trend of this year that we will surely continue to see in more seasons,” Estela and Daniel assure.

Stationery Trends in Wedding Decor

In addition to offering wedding planner services, Bouclé Weddings creates its own semi-customizable collections of bridal stationery, where they embody the refined aesthetics, elegance, positivity, and creativity characteristic of their weddings. From this perspective, they discuss this element, so important in nuptial decoration: “Stationery has become an essential element for the table, playing a leading role in the wedding’s storytelling,” they explain.

“The color of the paper, the shape, and the color of the text are now part of the details that can’t be missing from our couples’ tables. The menu, for example, is an element that requires attention, as it’s part of the guest’s first impression upon arriving at their table. Choosing elegant calligraphy and a design with different die cuts will add a touch of style and personality to the table,” they guarantee.

Details in Stone and Marble

“Besides porcelain and enameled tableware, materials like marble or stone will be standout elements in 2023 wedding table decoration,” Estela and Daniel assure.

“From table numbers made of polished stones to stone or marble slabs as decorative elements placed at the center of the table, these details add an organic and sophisticated touch to the composition. The texture and unique look of stone add visual and tactile appeal to the table,” they explain.

Modern & Minimal Wedding Tablescapes

“This table and floral arrangement style, gaining popularity in 2023 wedding table decoration, is a perfect combination of modernity and minimalism. One of the main trends is the incorporation of ikebanas in floral arrangements or as small centerpieces in bowls. Ikebana, a Japanese floral arrangement style, is noted for its minimalist approach and the careful arrangement of flowers,” the Bouclé Weddings team explains.

“Instead of traditional floral arrangements, ikebanas are used to create unique and artistic floral compositions on wedding tables. These meticulously designed floral structures highlight the natural beauty of the flowers and bring a touch of elegance and serenity to the table decoration,” add Estela and Daniel.

“In addition to ikebanas, this table style can also feature pastel-colored candles, spoons placed on the bread plate, and carefully selected tableware. These elements harmoniously combine to evoke the interior decorative style of wabi-sabi, a trend in decoration that creates relaxing and serene environments,” they conclude.
